And the guest of honour, Lisa Travis!

Languages vary but this variation is not chaotic. Within the Principles and Parameters framework, the principles are the abstract system that underlie Universal Grammar, while the parameters are the points of possible variation within this system. While originally conceived as settings that account for a wide range of linguistic properties (macro-parameters, such as the pro-drop parameter), parameters have recently been either outright denied or re-cast as micro-parameters. This workshop aims to highlight current research on parameters from a broad range of perspectives.

Call for abstracts: Abstracts are invited for 20-minute talks (plus 10 minutes for questions). A poster session may be added to the program following evaluation of submissions. We ask that you limit your submissions to one singly-authored abstract and one co-authored abstract, or two co-authored abstracts.

Submission guidelines: Submissions should be in PDF format. Abstracts should be no longer than 2 letter-sized (or A4) pages, including all text, data, figures, and references. Text should be in a 12pt font, with page margins no smaller than 1 inch (2.5 cm) on all sides.

Deadline:  December 7, 2018 December 14, 2018
