Montreal is served by the Pierre-Elliot Trudeau Airport (YUL),<\/strong> located about 30 minutes from downtown. Taxis charge a CAD $40 flat rate from the airport to the downtown area, which includes McGill.<\/p>\n

You can also take the 747 Express bus<\/strong>, which makes several stops in the downtown area. The fare is CAD $10 and includes a pass for unlimited use of Montreal public transportation for 24 hours. The pass may be purchased at the airport (cash\/credit\/debit) or on the bus (coins only). More information about public transportation can be found below.<\/p>\n

Bus<\/h2>\n

The Gare d’autocars de Montr\u00e9al<\/strong> is the primary bus terminal in Montreal for inter-city travel. It is located at Berri-UQAM metro, only 4-5 metro stops away from the conference venue. Several bus companies go to Montreal from both within Canada and the US, including Greyhound and Megabus.<\/p>\n

Train<\/h2>\n

Montreal’s Gare Centrale<\/strong> is in the heart of downtown, just 6 blocks away from the conference venue. It is serviced by Amtrak for US destinations and ViaRail for Canadian ones.<\/p>\n

Public Transportation<\/h2>\n

Montreal boasts a fairly extensive bus and metro system. The fare for single trips<\/strong> (unlimited transfers between the metro and buses within 2 hours from start of trip) is CAD $3.25. Discounted fares are available for multiple trips purchased in one transaction. Depending on how long you plan to stay in Montreal, you may want to consider a 3-day pass<\/strong>, which gives you unlimited trips for 3 consecutive calendar days from the date of purchase (e.g. purchase on Friday to use until 11:59pm on Sunday). The fare for this pass is CAD $18 and includes unlimited trips on the\u00a0747 Express bus to the airport.<\/p>\n
